Pride Power List 2017

The Guardian’s Pride Power List serves to celebrate those that are champions of the community and the entire list is nominated by members of the LGBT+ public. The Allies List recognises those that are outspoken in their support and can be powerful catalysts of change. In Lawrence and Katie’s case, their advocacy within the workplace has earned them a place on the revered list.

Katie Kenwright said: “Lawrence and I are proud to be honoured in the 2017 Pride Power list as straight allies. We are proud that some of our most senior members of staff are part of the LGBT community and embrace the variety of individuals and characters that are part of the Signature Living workforce.

“We believe in tolerance and acceptance at Signature Living.”

The honour comes during Pride Month, as June saw the Stonewall riots in 1969, many Pride events are held this month to recognise the value and impact of LGBT+ people. Liverpool Pride will be hosted on the last weekend of the month and Signature Group is proud to not only be a sponsor of the two-day event but also to have kicked off the festivities at The Shankly Hotel.

Sponsors of the LGBT+ Community

It’s not the first time Lawrence and Katie Kenwright have actively supported the community, in 2016 and 2017 Signature Group was pleased to support the British LGBT Awards.

Out News Global, an international LGBT+ news source, also recognised Signature’s Arthouse Hotel for its camp and quirky musical themed rooms. The movie-themed hotel offers guests an exciting night with suites that emulate Dr Frank-N-Furter’s sultry vibe or Judy Garland’s innocence in The Wizard of Oz.

The founders of Signature Group join LGBT+ icons Sir Ian McKellen, Stephen Fry, Clare Balding and Tom Daley on the Power List, as well as straight allies Owen Jones and John Bishop.
